It is a great boat for doing the Great Loop

(LOCATION: Clearwater FL) This Kha Shing Spindrift 40 Sundeck Trawler is a classic double-cabin trawler that combines space, comfort, and economy in a sturdy all-weather package. Large enough to live aboard and small enough to navigate coastal waterways. She is equipped with bow thruster to aid in maneuvering. She features a flybridge, sun deck, large open salon, and two staterooms to insure room, comfort, and convenience.

On deck we start at the top with a flybridge with a bimini top. The upper helm station is forward with 360º view, upper helm, captain's chair and guest seating. Equipped with upper and lower helm stations this 40 has classic ship's wheels. The bridge is large with guest seating for many. Steps lead below to the open sun deck with room for casual seating. Wide side decks lead forward to the salon and foredeck. The foredeck features a bow pulpit with anchor roller, anchor, and windlass.

The salon is bright, airy, and finished in teak with two entries and large windows. Starboard is the lower helm station with side deck access. The galley is port side and features teak cabinets, solid surface countertop, stainless steel sink, cooktop, and refrigerator/freezer. A sofa and table are to starboard.

There are two staterooms with teak woodwork providing warmth and style. The forward stateroom features v-berth, under-berth storage, shelves, and hanging locker. The enclosed head has a toilet, vanity with a sink/ shower. The master aft cabin has island berth, hanging locker, and ample storage in teak cabinets. The en suite master head has vanity and a shower.

Power is provided by a Ford Lehman diesel engine designed for economical and dependable performance. This is not a "project boat", we use the boat on weekends when we have time.  We keep the boat in "ready to use" condition.  We have taken trips to St. Pete's Vinoy resort and Longboat Key Club a couple of times.  The boat has been dependable, reliable, economical to operate, safe and fun.  We have several years of boating experience.  With 6 and 9 year old daughters joining my wife and I, safety, reliability and economical to operate, and comfort (day trips and overnighting in a slip and on anchor) were the highest priority.  Good Times' single diesel motor, full keel/hard chine hull, and keel protected prop and rudder served us well in the shallow sound/bay/gulf waters where we spent our time.

I purchased this wonderful trawler in January 2021.  The prior owner and I brought the boat from his home across Lake okeechobee, through the Caloosahatchee waterway, into the Gulf of Mexico, then to Clearwater.  Home has been Clearwater since.  Prior owner was 35yr licensed boat captain.  He replaced the original fuel tanks with custom built aluminum tanks made to original specifications.

April 2021 the boat had new bottom paint, blister repair, new Vetus 60 bow thruster installed, all professionally done by Marina Mar in Tarpon Springs.  Since the bottom job was done the bottom has been professionally maintained with monthly hull cleanings.

June of 2021 the batteries were rewired and a new Xantrex inverter/charger installed - all work professionally done by Louie’s Marine Electrical service.

January 2022 main engine cooling system was restored with new tranny cool, oil cooler, water pump impeller and heat exchanger cleaned.  New shift and throttle cables have been installed from the lower helm to the engine.

Raymarine chart plotter installed in lower helm station.  Raymarine ST4000 autopilot installed in lower helm station with controls at both helms.  Furuno “firstwatch” DRS4W radar system installed.

The boat is currently insured through Geico marine as required by our home marina.

We have full canvas enclosure for the sundeck cleaned and ready to install.

Last bottom job was professionally completed in 8/2023:  anti-fouling paint, zinc replacement and new cutlass bearing.  Relaunched 8/5/2023.

We keep the boat ready to use.

Patio furniture and tender are not included in the sale.
